The Industry Training Awards night is the optimum opportunity for you to recognise the exceptional contribution and hard work of your apprentices and trainees and to profile your company to the civil construction industry. CCF QLD is dedicated to celebrating the outstanding efforts and accomplishments of both employees and employers within the industry, and the following categories offer great opportunities to showcase your company’s achievements.

1. CERTIFICATE III TRAINEE/APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR.
This category is open to all trainees and apprentices who completed one of the following certificate qualifications between 4 April 2016 and 26 May 2017:
- RII30913 including:
- Road Construction and Maintenance,
- Civil Construction General,
- Pipe Laying,
- Bridge Construction and Maintenance,
- Bituminous Surfaces
- RII30813 Plant Operations
2. CERTIFICATE IV TRAINEE OF THE YEAR
Trainees who have completed this qualification should nominate because this award recognises individuals who have attained significant achievements in managing civil construction daily operations or as a supervisor within the civil construction industry. This award is for those who have completed either a Certificate IV Civil Construction Supervision or Operations between 4 April 2016 – 26 May 2017.
3. OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT TO TRAINING AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT (INDIVIDUAL)
Employees that have encouraged a training culture within their organisation providing trainees/apprentices with support, guidance and leadership to ensure they successfully complete their training should nominate for this award.
4. OUTSTANDING COMMITMENT TO TRAINING AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT (EMPLOYER)
Companies who have endorsed a training culture within the organisation providing staff with the opportunity of training, making it an essential part of their daily functions should nominate for this award.
5. 2017 ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD
This award recognises the outstanding effort of trainees currently undertaking training and is awarded to an individual who shows a passion and commitment to working in the civil industry. To be eligible the student/trainee must currently be enrolled and studying a Certificate II, III or IV with Civil Train QLD due for completion after 26 May 2017.
The following two awards are awarded by the panel of judges based on the nominations received for the above categories and cannot be nominated for separately.
6. 2017 TRAINEE/APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR
This award is presented to the trainee/apprentice who has demonstrated complete commitment to their qualification. They have achieved outstanding results in their studies, approached their work with a positive attitude and have demonstrated tremendous commitment to the civil construction industry. The person to be awarded this will receive a Civil Train scholarship.
7. 2017 PRESIDENT’S AWARD
This award is now in its ninth year and is presented to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the civil construction industry. You do not need to nominate for this category; the CCF QLD President selects an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry.
